M.E.S ORGANIZES ENRICHING SPEECH ON VIRTUES OF RAMADAN

To bring about awareness of the holy month of Ramadan and to welcome it in a gratifying manner, MES Indian School organized a session on the topic “How to prepare for Ramadan” on 17th March 2024 at the Conference Hall. Mr. Manasul Ansari and Mr. Mohammad Athar spoke on the values of Islam and the virtues of Ramadan interactively thus grabbing the attention and engaging the listeners.

The speakers spoke at length on the following topics. The most powerful Month: There are five pillars of Islam and Ramadan is one of them. Ramadan is also very significant for Muslims because in this month Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H received the first revelation of the Quran. Moreover, the revelation of the Quran is also completed in the holy month so it is also known as the “month of the Quran.”

When to stop fasting; the beauty of Ramadan; the lunar calendar is the base of Ramadan; end of Ramadan: Ramadan lasts for twenty-nine to thirty days. Eid al-Fitr starts right after the completion of Ramadan and lasts for three consecutive days. On the last day of Ramadan, to mark Eid al-Fitr, people will often say ‘Eid Mubarak’.

Benefits for the poor in this month of the Quran: A lot of people give Zakat, other forms of donations and fundraising dinners in this month specifically because the reward of every good act is increased by manyfold from Allah SWT.

Students from Grades 4 to 8 attended the session to enhance their knowledge of Ramadan. School officials and teachers were present on the occasion. Mr. Usman Mayyeri, Head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies coordinated the event.
