ENGAGING ACTIVITIES MARK M.E.S. TEACHERS’ ORIENTATION PROGRAMME PRIOR TO SCHOOL REOPENING

With an objective to prepare educators for the upcoming academic session, M.E.S. Indian School conducted a staff orientation programme starting from Sunday, August 24, 2025. The event was designed to ensure that teachers are well-equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to provide students with a high standard of education.

The orientation began with the address of the MES school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, emphasizing on teachers to adopt a student-centric teaching methodology so as to ensure a greater learning experience happening. Following the address, section-wise as well as department-wise meetings were held, led by the Heads of Sections and Heads of Departments, discussing various key ideas for the success of the upcoming academic session.

Dr. Aniket Srivastava, a resource person in the field of education, delivered an insightful session on AI in Education, highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence to transform teaching and learning. The session was attended by teachers & Principals of both MES & MESIS. Activities for the orientation programme included: The Department of Guidance and Counselling conducted a session on the topic, ‘Stress Management and Teacher Well Being.’ Creative lesson planning: Engaging students to project–based Learning/art integration Approach by Mrs. Krishna Rajeev, Department of Physics. Ms. Needhu D. and Ms. Kanimozhi, Department of English, presented effective strategies in Building English Vocabulary Skills – A Junior Level Approach, while Mrs. Baby Shana, Head of Academic Inspection, conducted a session on ‘Strengthening Connections Among Educators: Building a Happy and Collaborative Team.’ The day concluded with departmental meetings,

where HODs and subject coordinators discussing strategies to align their plans with the school’s vision for the upcoming academic session.

Mr. Rajendran S, Coordinator, Department of Hindi, and Mr. Jency George, a faculty in the Department of English, conducted sessions on ‘Inquiry-Based and Experiential Learning’ and ‘Cognitive Behavioural Theory in an Educational Setting’ respectively. The afternoon sessions highlighted the school’s commitment to cultural awareness and early STEM education. Mrs. Farhana N. and Mr. Tariq H, members of the teaching faculty from the Junior Section, presented on ‘Preserving and Promoting Qatar’s Cultural Heritage – A Vision for the Future under QNV 2030’, helping educators incorporate cultural values into their teaching practices. Simultaneously, Ms. Samshabi Jarish and Ms. Afreena Mymoonath engaged the teachers of the KG section with a STEM Activity, demonstrating ways to nurture curiosity and innovation in young learners. The event also witnessed a practical session on utilizing ERP systems for managing educational content, ensuring that all faculty members were equipped with modern teaching tools.

The programme concluded with department-wise specific meetings, where HODs and subject coordinators provided detailed training based on the updated training plan matrix. ‘The teachers’ orientation programme was designed to equip teachers with updated strategies, practical tools, and modern approaches to enhance the teaching and learning experience,’ remarked the MES school Principal.
