M.E.S LAUNCHES ‘EK PED MAA KE NAAM’ PLANTATION DRIVE

As a part of the plantation campaign launched to encourage people to plant trees, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” programme, aimed at fostering environmental awareness and highlighting the symbolic nurturing role shared by both mothers and nature in sustaining life, was conducted at MES Indian School.

The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, who planted a sapling on the school premises in the presence of senior school officials, faculty members, and students. In her address, the Principal remarked, “Just as a mother nurtures life with care and compassion, trees sustain the environment with selfless giving. This campaign is all about instilling a sense of gratitude, commitment, and emotional bond with nature.”

Students from Grades I to XII actively participated in the campaign by bringing saplings and planting them in designated areas within the school campus. The initiative emphasized the dual objectives of environmental sustainability and value-based education, encouraging students to view tree planting as an act of respect and dedication to Mother Nature. The campaign was met with enthusiastic participation and appreciation, reinforcing MES Indian School’s continued commitment to holistic education and sustainable development. As a part of the school’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability, a Seed Ball Throwing Activity was also organised, aligning with the initiatives of Qatar to create greener spaces. Mrs Nazanin Salim Nadaf, was the event manager. Mr Jency George Mrs Radhika Rajan, Mrs Pradnya Pandey and Ms Bitty Varghese were the teachers in charge of Boys’, Girls’ and Junior Sections CCF (Campus Care Force), who coordinated the event.
