M.E.S TRIUMPHS IN QATAR’S UNITY RUN MARATHON

With the objective of bringing together young athletes in a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition, the Embassy of India in association with the Indian Sports Centre recently hosted an Interschool Marathon Competition – Unity Run ,a vibrant event aimed at promoting unity, fitness, and sportsmanship among students.

Kevin Joseph of MES Indian School showcased outstanding endurance and determination, securing the First Prize in a thrilling finish that drew cheers from the gathered crowd. A total of 120 enthusiastic students from various Indian schools across Qatar participated in the event, navigating a challenging yet exhilarating course that tested their endurance and resolve.

 

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of HE Mr Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar and was graced by Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister for Labour and Employment and Minister of Youth and Sports, Government of India who honored the winners, presenting awards and sharing inspiring words on the role of sports in building national pride and personal growth.

 

Dr. Hameeda Kadar, Principal of MES Indian School, commended Kevin Joseph and his coach Mr Steson K Mathew’s achievement, stating, ‘Kevin’s victory is a testament to his hard work and the supportive spirit of our school community. The event underscored the importance of physical activity and collective harmony in fostering well-rounded youth development.’
