M.E.S. Indian School achieved a glorious feat with Anusree Shine (Class X) Harshan Ayyappan (Class VI) and Carrol Bethany (Class VI), making a clean sweep of securing First, Second, and Third positions at the prestigious ISC (Indian Sports Centre) & YONEX Badminton Tournaments. Held at Prime & Alpha Sports Centre from 21st to 24th January 2026, the students, with their phenomenal performances, brought immense glory to the institution by emerging winners through remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Anusree Shine emerged as a standout performer by clinching First Position in two major events—Under-17 Singles, Under-19 Mixed Doubles and secured second position in the Mixed Doubles open category. Adding further distinction to the school’s success, Harshan Ayyappan won first position in Under 13 category Doubles and secured a bronze medal in Under 13 Singles. Demonstrating exceptional dexterity and talent, Carrol Bethany delivered an impressive performance by securing second and third positions in the Under 13 Singles category of the tournament.
The ISC & YONEX Badminton Tournaments are renowned competitions that attract a wide spectrum of participants, featuring junior categories from Under-9 to Under-19, as well as prominent adult categories including Men’s Singles A, Men’s Doubles A, and Open Mixed Doubles. The students’ success in such a competitive arena underscores the school’s strong emphasis on holistic education and sporting excellence. Expressing her pride and appreciation, the Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, congratulated the winners for their outstanding achievements and lauded their commitment, perseverance, and exemplary performance.
