M.E.S. Indian School observed the World Environment Day on Thursday, 4th June 2026, across all Sections of the school with a series of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness among students. Members of teaching faculty and administrative staff commemorated the occasion in green attire to underscore their support for environmental sustainability.
Speaking on the occasion, the school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar urged students to become responsible stewards of nature by adopting sustainable habits in their daily lives and actively contributing to the protection and preservation of the environment for future generations.
The Kindergarten Section marked the day with a special assembly led by Ms Jesna Siju, CCF In-charge (Kindergarten), followed by a role play titled “Tree Today, Breathe Tomorrow.” KG1 students participated in a role play on the topic ‘ Save Earth’, while KG2 students created thumb-print tree artwork. The Junior Section conducted “The Green Squad – Environment Champions” assembly featuring speeches, skits, dance, and an environmental news bulletin. The programme was coordinated by Mrs Reshma V.R., CCF In-charge (Junior Section). Students also participated in awareness activities, a video presentation and an Eco-Awareness Campaign. The Boys’ and Girls’ Section had a PowerPoint presentation on environmental awareness. A cleanliness drive involving both boys and girls was conducted, while sapling planting activity was carried out in the Boys’ Section, reinforcing environmental responsibility.Grade 6 students participated in a letter-writing competition on “A Letter from the Earth,” while Grade 7 students took part in a collage-making competition on “Save Earth.”
The programme was jointly organized by the Campus Care Force (CCF) and Scouts & Guides under the coordination of Mr Jency George, CCF In-charge, and Mr Rajesh K.S., Scouts In-charge. The event was ably supported by a team of school faculty comprising Mr Anwar K. and Ms Sumitha Nassar, Activities In-charges; Mr Thomas Mathew, Observance of Days Coordinator; Ms Anagha M., CCF In-charge (Girls); Mrs Fency Pathrose, Cubs & Bulbuls Coordinator; and Mr Sudhir, Art Teacher.
