M.E.S SWIMMERS EXCEL AT CBSE QATAR CLUSTER CHAMPIONSHIP; QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS

M.E.S. swimmers brought distinction to the school through their commendable participation in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Swimming Competition held from 16 to 17 June 2026, demonstrating outstanding talent, steadfast determination, and exemplary sportsmanship across the Under-11, Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories.

 

In the Under-14 boys’category Nihal Muhammadu Shafi of Class VIII earned a silver medal in the 100 m Freestyle and two bronze medals in the 200m Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly respectively. While in the Under-14 girls’ category, Noor Khan of Class VI delivered an outstanding performance, securing two silver medals in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Backstroke events, and a bronze medal in the 100m Butterfly. In the Under-17 girls’ category, Parvathy Mayadevi of Class X showcased remarkable endurance and technical finesse, earning a silver medal in the 400m Individual Medley. In the Under-19 girls’ category, Hannah Lynn Josy of Class XII achieved notable success by clinching a silver medal in the 200m Butterfly and bronze medals in the 100m Butterfly, 400m Freestyle, and 400m Individual Medley.

With their impressive performances, Nihal Muhammadu Shafi, Noor Khan, Parvathy Mayadevi and Hannah Lynn Josy have qualified for the CBSE National Swimming Championship, which will be held in India in September 2026. The team was trained and guided by the faculty members of the Physical Education Department comprising: Mr. Kunheedu AP, Mrs. Shani G. R. and assisted by Mr. Mohd. Navas and Ms. Reshma C. A. whose dedication and expertise played a significant role in the students’ achievements.

The School Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, congratulated the winners and commended the coaches for their tireless efforts, expressing confidence in the students’ continued success at higher levels of competition.
