The third day of the Teachers’ Orientation Programme at M.E.S. Indian School featured a series of engaging and professionally enriching sessions aimed at strengthening pedagogical practices and enhancing classroom learning.
The event covered key areas including ‘Differentiated Instruction for Slow, Average and Advanced Learners’, ‘Fostering Core Values in Character Building through Islamic and Moral Science Education’, ‘Rebuilding Reading Habits and Classroom Communication’, ‘Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Unlocking Learning and Fun’. Teachers also explored innovative approaches such as real-life connections in lessons, life skills and value-based learning in kindergarten, and structured sensorial activities for experiential learning. An Instructional Planning Session focused on the CBSE skill-based vocational education programmes, ‘Kaushal Bodh’ and ‘Kaushal Vikas’, equipping teachers with insights into their effective implementation. The day also included curricular workshops conducted by Heads of Departments and Coordinators for their respective departments, facilitating academic planning, collaboration and effective curriculum implementation.
The fourth day of the teachers’ orientation at M.E.S commenced with a session titled ‘Experiential Techniques in Social and Emotional Learning’, which was followed by ‘The Art of Conflict Resolution: A Mental Health Perspective’, jointly hosted by Mr Sulaiman Mohammed.
Educator, UNIQ and EMS, Hamad Medical Corporation, Ms Rajalakshmi Chockalingam, registered nurse, educator – UNIQ, Ms Kala Thomas and Ms Sneha Thomas, UNIQ members focusing on equipping teachers with psychological tools for managing workplace friction and stress-management principles. The workshop also addressed core relationship dynamics, including de-escalating teacher-student tensions through emotional regulation and co-regulation, and transforming teacher-parent friction into collaborative partnerships using validated active listening. Overall, these sessions reinforced the school’s commitment to innovative teaching, experiential learning, character development and holistic education. The attendees included school officials and teachers of all Sections of the school, including the Evening Shift.
