The Golden Jubilee Annual Day of M.E.S Indian School – Mesmerise 2024, a grand spectacle cultural extravaganza concludes on 29th November 2024 with a sluice of captivating ‘wow-programme’, adding a ‘spectacular visual enchantment and leaving an indelible mark on thousands of invitees who attended the historic event that created an atmosphere of elegance and euphoria. In total, the two-day cultural extravaganza had around 110 items staged with about 5000 students participating vibrantly.
The second-day event commenced with a mesmerizing welcome dance and a thematic representation captivating the audience and embodying the spirit of unity and celebration. Shri Sanjib Das, Regional Director, Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (East), was the Chief Guest, while Ms. Bindu N. Nair, Second Secretary, Information, Culture and Education, Embassy of India to Qatar was the Special Guest on the occasion. Congratulating the school on its 50th annual day celebration the Chief guest in his keynote address extoled that the school has seen tremendous growth since its inception and carved a niche for itself by setting a benchmark in the field of education by excelling in board examinations and garnering accolades in all the scholastic and co-scholastic activities. He applauded the school’s commendable efforts in promoting and inculcating the values of Indian culture and tradition among students and emphasizing its role in fostering cultural harmony and inclusivity. Ms Bindu N. Nair, Second Secretary, Information, Culture and Education, Embassy of India to Qatar complimented the school for setting a high standard in education and standing tall with its innovation and commitment to holistic education, obtained through hard work and dedication of teachers and the school officials. She also highlighted the school’s significant contributions to the development of Indian communities in Qatar and commended its pursuit of excellence in education. Dr Najeeb K.P. Sr. Vice President, M.E.S. Governing Board, in his speech fondly remembered the unwavering commitment of the ‘founding fathers’ of this institution which
remains unparalleled and an eloquent testimony for the incomparable dedication towards the noble cause of education.
Further, the second day event witnessed the presentation of the Annual Report for the academic year 2023-24 by the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar encompassing the school’s phenomenal achievements and exceptional accolades garnered in scholastic and co-scholastic domains during the past year. The programme was attended by a diverse array of distinguished guests from various walks of life, who were enthralled by the wow-performance of students presented in their youthful exuberance, thus showcasing the vibrant cultural diversity besides reflecting the milestone achievements of MES Indian School over the past five decades. Energetic dance performances, songs, mellifluous musical renditions and dramatic presentations reflected the creativity and latent talent of students being nurtured by the school which culminated in a breathtaking finale, leaving the audience spellbound. The programme demonstrates the school’s commitment to fostering artistic and cultural excellence alongside academic achievements.
The grand ceremony concluded with the mammoth scroll paying tribute to the school management with a congratulatory message for serving the community for 50 fabulous years and advance wishes for the legacy of excellence to continue in the years to come.
Members of the school Governing Board, community leaders, invitees, media personnel, principals of expatriate schools, alumni, school officials, parents and students were among those who attended the 50th annual day celebration of M.E.S. Indian School. Maliha Najeeb, Head Prefect introduced the programme followed by the welcome speech by Ahmed Faizal, Head Boy. Muhammed Salim, Student Editor, and Savariya Nambiar, Cultural Secretary delivered votes of thanks for the official and cultural segments of the event respectively.
