CBSE QATAR CLUSTER ATHLETIC MEET 2025 WITNESSES A GLITTERING INAUGURAL CEREMONY AT M.E.S

The opening ceremony of the CBSE Qatar Cluster Athletic Meet 2025, jointly hosted by MES Indian School and M.E.S.I.S Abu Hamour Br. was held on 29th April 2025 at M.E.S Indian School, with spectacle of liveliness and enthusiasm. About 18 CBSE schools across Qatar are vying for the topnotch honour of winning the title of the year. Competitions are held in three categories viz, U-14, U-17 and U 19.

Mr. Badarudheen Gulam Mohiyuddin, Director of Sports and Games, M.E.S Governing Board was the Chief Guest. Mr. A.T. Usman, Treasurer, M.E.S Governing Board was the distinguished guest present on the occasion. In her inspiring address, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, Principal of M.E.S Indian School, encouraged all participants to give their absolute best, push beyond their limits, and aim to set new records. Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Pramila Kannan, Principal of M.E.S.I.S, emphasized on how essential sports activities are in a student’s life, and their pivotal role in teaching life skills such as teamwork, leadership, accountability, patience, and self-confidence among sports enthusiasts.

The event was meticulously organized by the Physical Education Department of M.E.S Indian School. The ceremony began with a solemn prayer led by Master Mohammed Umair, followed by the welcome address delivered by Nivedhya Sudhir, the Sports Captain, Girls’ Section. Mohammad Anas, the Athletic Captain, led the athletes in taking the oath, committing themselves to fair play and sportsmanship. Miss Hadiya Hashim, the Head Girl, introduced the event and compered the event along with Nimisha Liz Abraham. Mohammed Jasim, the Sports Captain, M.E.S.I.S proposed a vote of thanks. The school ground came alive as participants from all CBSE schools across Qatar proudly lined up, representing their institutions with energy and pride. The event marked a significant beginning to the athletic meet, fostering camaraderie, competitive spirit, and the joy of sports among young athletes.

Mr Salim J Nadaf, Coordinator, Department of Physical Education of the school methodically coordinated the event along with a team of teachers.
