M.E.S Indian School came alive with vibrant celebrations as it marked Children’s Day with boundless enthusiasm, joy, and warmth, honouring the spirit of childhood and the legacy of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. The school was filled with cheer as teachers and students came together to celebrate the occasion through a series of engaging, fun-filled activities.
In the Boys’ Section the celebrations began with a special morning assembly, where Master Alric Manoj dressed as Chachaji, delivered a heartwarming speech on the importance of childhood and education. Mr Sandeep Painuly, Hindi Department teacher, also donned Nehru’s iconic attire and shared inspiring words, capturing Nehru’s affection for children.
Principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar, who graced the occasion, expressed immense joy and pride, stating that the celebration was a reflection of the school’s deep-rooted commitment to nurturing young minds with love, creativity, and care. In the Girls’ Section, the celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Principal, followed by lively fun games, lucky draws, and creative competitions like puppet and paper flower making. Students enthusiastically dressed in Nehru-inspired outfits, honouring his legacy. The highlight of the day included a dance performance by the teachers, warmly received by the students, and a soulful song rendered by Mrs. Lila Noushad from the Social Science Department.
The Junior Section teachers presented a delightful cultural show, complete with skits, songs, and dances, conveying Pandit Nehru’s vision for children and their bright future. Adding charm to the day, Mr Kashi Kumar, Junior Section teacher, greeted the students in the role of Nehru, adding smiles to young faces.
The entire campus was decked in festive decor, with classroom celebrations, sweets distribution, and bulletin board displays, making the day truly special and memorable for all students. The programme was organized by the Event Managers, Ms. Hamza Rassia, Ms. Nazanin, Staff secretary Ms. Sijila Das, Mrs Ayesha Samreen, Mr. Sreejith K.N, Mrs. Anu Manoj and Ms. Namitha Pradeep.
