In a vibrant celebration of Earth Day 2025, the students of M.E.S. Indian School came together on 22nd April 2025 at the school campus to express their love and responsibility towards Mother Earth through an array of hands-on activities, which were aimed at instilling a deep sense of environmental responsibility among students. This initiative of the school resonated with the theme of Earth Day 2025, “My Earth, My Responsibility.”
In the boys’ section, students proudly showcased their Earth models and messages — from “One Earth, One Chance” to “Let’s Heal the World Together” — the school campus echoed with hope, responsibility, and creativity. A special assembly was conducted in the Girls’ Section where students delivered inspiring speeches. Students of the Junior Section presented a skit on ‘Mother Earth’ that urged the children to keep the planet green and safe. A special group song on Mother Nature for presented by the choir of the Junior Section. The CCF team and the Cubs & Bubul organized a symbolic “Plant Hope” ceremony to mark the occasion.
On this occasion, the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, planted saplings and shared her words of wisdom, motivating students to adopt eco-friendly practices and be the change-makers of tomorrow. In the K G Section, a lively and colourful role play titled ‘Save Earth’ in which children dressed as trees, flowers, water, etc., performed to celebrate the occasion. They shared the key message through their performance: “Say No to Plastic” and protect our Earth for future generations. During the event, children were encouraged to observe objects from their natural surroundings, such as leaves, flowers, twigs, stones, and soil. The celebration concluded with a delightful colouring activity that allowed children to express their love for Earth through colouring the art.. A poster-making session themed “Restore Our Earth” with compelling messages and a quiz competition marked the celebration of Earth Day by the evening session of the school.
The school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, commended the enthusiastic participation and creativity displayed by the students. ‘Every small step taken
by each of us leads to a giant leap for our planet, she remarked. This celebration stands as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to its vision of nurturing environmentally conscious global citizens. The activity empowered students to take ownership of their actions and choices, in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which highlights environmental development as a pillar for a sustainable future.
With the effective coordination of a team of in-charge teachers of the various Sections of the school, which included Ms Safwa, Ms Cheryl, Mrs Farhana Nazeer, Mrs. Pradnya Pande, Mrs Fency Pathrose, Pushyami Racherla, Mr. Jency George (In-charge, Campus Care Force) and Mr.Rajesh K.S (Scouts In-charge), the event proved to be a meaningful movement towards a greener, healthier planet for the upcoming generation
