MES Indian School yet again established its supremacy in chess by delivering an outstanding performance at the CBSE Cluster Chess Championship 2026, held at Birla Public School from 2nd to 4th June 2026. The school secured the Gold Medal in the Under-14 Boys category and the Bronze Medal in the Under-19 Boys category, marking yet another milestone in its sporting achievements.
Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sporting excellence, MES Indian School actively participated across multiple categories, including Under-11 and Under-17, further underscoring its strong presence in competitive chess. In a remarkable accomplishment, the Under-14 Boys team retained the championship title for the third consecutive year, thereby consolidating the school’s dominance in the tournament. Led by Captain, Advik Praveen, the team emerged as Cluster Champions and earned qualification for the CBSE National Chess Championship, scheduled to be held in Punjab, India, in October 2026.
The Under-14 Gold Medal-winning team comprised Advik Praveen (VII-J), Evan Varghese Sanju (VII-D), Edwin Idiculla Sanju (VI-I), and Ain Vaibhav (VIII-H). The Under-19 Bronze Medal-winning team included Adwaith Praveen (XII-H), Johan Jobsy (IX-D), Johan Raj Rajasekhar (VI-E), and Aric John Abhilash (VII-H). The Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, congratulated the students and coach Mohamed Navas on their commendable achievements, lauding their dedication, perseverance, and exemplary display of skill and sportsmanship.
