The 50th Annual Day Celebration of M.E.S. Indian School – Mesmerise 2024 was held with immense vibrancy and youthful exuberance on the grass field of the school on November 28, 2024, marking the Golden Jubilee year of the institution reflecting five decades of proud legacy, landmark achievements and excellence in education. In total, the two-day cultural extravaganza had around 110 items staged with about 5000 students participating vibrantly. Over 7,000 attendees including esteemed dignitaries, distinguished members of the school management and the community, alumni, principals of expatriate schools attended the event.
The Golden Jubilee Celebration was graced by His Excellency Vipul, the Ambassador of India to Qatar, and Shri V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the opposition, Kerala Legislative Assembly as Chief Guests for the function. Mr. Salem Al Nuaimi, Senior Private Schools Expert, Mr. Abdulla Al Mansoori, Private School Education Consultant and Ms Muneera Al Abdullah, Senior Private Schools Expert, Ministry of Education and Higher Education were the special guests on the occasion.
His Excellency Vipul, in his address, highlighted the significant contributions of M.E.S. Indian School to the students of the expatriate community and its pivotal role in inculcating social values among students. He also affirmed that the school’s legacy of nurturing leadership qualities and holistic traits among students speaks volumes about its strong commitment to equipping students with the demeanour that the world of tomorrow prefers.
Complimenting the school for its outstanding initiatives and milestone achievements in all spheres of activities and advocating holistic development for students, Shri. V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the opposition, Kerala Legislative Assembly urged the students to prepare for a futuristic approach towards
science and technology as the life of tomorrow will be encompassed by technological advancements and solutions.
In his inspiring address, Mr B.M. Siddique, President M.E.S. Governing Board, remarked that the school’s successful journey over the past five decades would not have been possible without the dreams and sacrifices of its founder members, the tireless dedication of teachers, the support of parents, and the enthusiasm of students. The school is engaged in preparing students to face the surmounting global challenges of tomorrow and inculcate a sense of responsibility towards the community and the world at large.
The vibrant and colourful presentations were a visual treat, showcasing the students’ talents in music, dance, and drama, while also reflecting the values and cultural richness that M.E.S. Indian School is known for. These performances were a celebration of the school’s diverse heritage and its role in fostering creativity and leadership among its students. It was a visual delight, blending tradition and modernity thus offering a fitting tribute to the school’s incredible journey and enduring legacy over the past 50 years.
Master Aryan Unnikrishnan, the Head Prefect gave an introduction to the programme. Mrs Sheza Fathima, the Head Girl, delivered the welcome speech. Miss Hanan Mohammed, Head Girl, Junior Section and Master Vasudev S, Cultural Secretary, proposed votes of thanks for the official and cultural segments of the event.
