MES Indian School celebrated Teachers’ Day 2024 amidst the vibrancy of the school’s golden jubilee celebrations. A spectacular felicitation ceremony was organized to honour teachers’ commitment and dedication toward empowering the young generation with enhanced skills and knowledge.
Speaking on the occasion, the school Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar complimented teachers for their relentless effort and selfless service in enlightening students in their journey of success besides enabling them to build character and values among students.
On the occasion, members of the school faculty namely Mr. Mohammed Illias, Mrs. Atheen Bahanan, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi.S, Mrs. Nisha George, Mrs. Kadeeja Beevi. A and Mrs. Fouzia K.P who received ‘Best Teachers Award from the Indian Cultural Centre, and those teachers who had 100% attendance in the academic year 2023-2024 were honoured. As a gesture of gratitude to the school management for all its unwavering support and guidance, the Principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar presented a brilliantly worded gigantic card bearing the signatures of the school staff. This was followed by a cultural segment, which included a medley of group songs, dance, skit, and fun games for teachers. The winners of various fun-filled games conducted as a part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations were awarded with prizes and trophies. Connecting thematically to the school’s 50 years of celebration, a lucky draw was conducted and 50 lucky winners were selected and given prizes. Mr. Sameer Pande, a teacher from the Department of Hindi dressed as Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and delivered a Teachers’ Day message.
Gathering on the grass field of the school, in number 50 formation, teachers and school officials lit up mobile torches to symbolically
welcome the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the school and conveyed their solidarity towards the school and igniting the light of knowledge.
Earlier in the day, section-wise special assemblies were conducted in which students paid glowing tribute to their mentors for their guidance and support through speeches. Students of all Sections wrote “Thank You” notes to their beloved teachers and prepared beautifully worded greeting cards.
In the Boys’ Section, members of student council in association with Campus Care Force took the initiative in organizing events. In honour of the dedication of teachers and as a token of love and respect there were cake-cutting ceremonies carried out in various Sections of the school. Lucky dips were conducted for teachers in all the sections wherein the winners were presented with a token of love. The day mirrored the abundance of affection and reverence that students hold for their teachers.
Mrs. Rema Devi, Coordinator, Department of English and her team compered the Teachers’ Day programme. Mrs. Rizwa and Mrs. Fahira Manas members of the teaching faculty welcomed the attendees and proposed a vote of thanks respectively.
Mr. Anver K and Mrs. Sumitha Nassar, the Cultural Coordinators of the school coordinated the event. The ICT Department under the guidance of Mr Haroon Muhammed provided the technical support for the smooth conduct of the programme.
