M.E.S EVENING SHIFT CONDUCTS MAIDEN ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET WITH VIBRANCY

Unfolding in a resplendent spectacle of Sporting Excellence the evening shift of MES Indian School organized its first Annual Athletic Meet titled “Blaze of Glory,” for the academic year 2024-25

Competitions among the four houses: Blue, Red, Green and Yellow were held in various categories —EV-KG 1 students exuberantly took part in the Running Race, while KG 2 engaged in the aptly named Hop Race. The athletes of Classes EV- 1 and EV- 2 showcased their prowess in the Ball Throw and 50m sprint, whereas, Classes EV-3 and EV 4 exhibited great stamina and precision in the Standing Broad Jump, 100m, and 200m races. Meanwhile, the more seasoned competitors of Classes EV-5, EV-6, and EV-7 demonstrated their mettle in the Shot Put, Long Jump, 100m l, 200m and 4x100mt relay rendering the competitions in a spectacle of athletics.

The grand occasion commenced with an eloquent welcome address by the school leader Master Hami Rahman. Dr. Hameeda Kadar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In addressing the athletes, she underscored the importance of sports and games in a student’s school life. ‘The school takes every effort to identify the distinctive talents of students which are inherent and nurture them meticulously,’ she added.

One of the most impressive moments of the ceremony was the hoisting of the school flag, an emblem of institutional pride. A defining moment of the evening was the Oath-Taking Ceremony, wherein the General Sports Captain led the athletes in a solemn pledge to uphold the values of sportsmanship, fairness, and integrity, principles that constitute the very fulcrum of athletic excellence.

After a series of fiercely contested events, the Blue House emerged as the paragon of supremacy, clinching the championship title with unparalleled consistency across multiple disciplines and a commendable points tally. The medal distribution ceremony was imbued with profound elation and collective pride, as victors ascended the podium, their triumphs immortalized in glistening accolades.

Miss Niranjan, the Student Editor, rendered a vote of thanks, extending hearty gratitude to the organizers, participants, and dignitaries whose collective efforts orchestrated the resounding success of the evening. Mr. Afsal and Miss Maryam from the Department of Physical Education coordinated the event with meticulous planning and ensured a seamless execution of the event. The occasion witnessed an august gathering of school officials, teachers and students. The first Annual Athletic Meet of the evening shift of MES was not merely of athletic contests but a resplendent event to the spirit of tenacity, unity, and unrelenting pursuit of greatness, a testament to MES Indian School’s enduring legacy of holistic excellence.
