M.E.S Indian School has demonstrated its sporting excellence with an outstanding performance at the CBSE Qatar Cluster Athletics Meet 2026, held on 19th, 21st, and 23rd May 2026. The prestigious event brought together talented student athletes from leading CBSE schools across Qatar, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and athletic achievement.
A dedicated contingent of 70 students from Classes VI to XII represented the school, actively participating in a wide range of individual and team events. The students exhibited exemplary enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the meet. The team delivered a remarkable performance, securing an impressive tally of 46 gold medals, 39 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. The collective efforts of the athletes culminated in M.E.S being crowned the Overall Champion for the Academic Year 2026–27, a distinction that underscores the institution’s continued dominance in athletics.
The Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, lauded the commendable accomplishments of the students and expressed her appreciation for their unwavering dedication and determination. She also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the coaching staff, which includes Mr Steeson K. Mathew, Ms Gigi P. Abraham, and Ms Nazanin S. Nadaf from the Physical Education Department, in guiding and mentoring the athletes towards excellence. This remarkable achievement brings immense pride to the institution, besides reinforcing its commitment to nurturing talent and promoting excellence in sports.
