The Golden Jubilee Youth Festival, Regalia 2024, marked a significant milestone for M.E.S Indian School, celebrating fifty years of excellence in education and extracurricular activities. The festival was held recently at the school campus, bringing together students, in a vibrant celebration of talent and creativity.
The youth festival was inaugurated by the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kader, at a function organized at the Conference Hall while the felicitation ceremony which was conducted on a later date had Mr A T Usman, Treasurer, M.E.S Governing Board as the Chief Guest and Mr Ashraf Sharafudheen, Director, Academics and Mr Faisal Mayan, Director Transport`, M.E.S Governing Board as the Guests of Honour. Mr Shihabudheen, Senior Vice Principal, attended the event along with school officials, teachers, and students.
The Principal in her inaugural speech, emphasized the importance of discovering and nurturing the inner talents of students. She added that participation in contests holds more value in providing required experience and exposure than winning a prize. The Regalia 2024 upheld its promise of being a spectacular showcase of the talent of aspiring students in their youthful exuberance, which featured around 200 competitions in various categories. These included classical and folk dances, instrumental and vocal music performances, literary competitions, and offstage events that tested the participants’ creativity and intellect. The competitions were thoughtfully organized into five categories: Sub Junior-1, Sub Junior-2, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior, ensuring that students of all age groups had the opportunity to participate and excel. The festival spanned across the school campus, utilizing more than 20 venues to host the diverse array of events.
The livewire excitement and enthusiastic response from the participants were overwhelming, with over 2000 students vibrantly participating in various competitions. Best individual Artists were selected from each category. Their passion and commitment to their chosen art forms were truly commendable and served as a testament to the success of Regalia 2024.
Riham Shahnaz, Aaesha Fathima Basheer and Saavariya Arun Nambiar from the Girls’ Section and Aasim Ismayil Parambath, Gautham Jinesh and Jiteshadhithya Naveenkumar from the Boys’ Section were adjudged as the Best Individual Artists in their respective Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories of the competition. Aadam Hameed Habeer and Muhammad Zishan were selected as the Best Individual Artists in their respective boys Sub Junior-I&II categories while Amna Fysal and Hanan Mohammed Shameem in their respective girls Sub Junior-I&II categories. The winners were felicitated with mementoes and certificates.
The event saw an active involvement of around 200 teachers who contributed to the successful conduct of various activities of the Regalia 2024. Mr. Anver K and Mrs. Sumitha Abdunnaser, overall conveners of the youth festival coordinated the event.
