M.E.S. Indian School, Doha, marked a significant milestone with the grand inauguration of SCINOVA 2026, a dynamic and intellectually stimulating exhibition integrating Science, Mathematics, and Art. Conceptualised in alignment with the frameworks of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and Qatar National Vision (QNV 2030), the initiative aims at fostering inquiry-based learning, creativity, and innovation among students across all academic levels.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Harish Pandey, First Secretary (Education and Cultural), Embassy of India, whose presence added prestige and distinction to the occasion. In his inaugural address, he lauded the school’s progressive approach and commended its sustained efforts in nurturing scientific temper, critical thinking, and creative expression among students. Adding further eminence to the event, Dr. Mohammed Abuduraheem Athahan, Head of Activities and Programmes, graced the ‘Iqra’ – Qur’an Exhibition as the Special Guest. Mr. Ahamed Isham, Director of the M.E.S. Governing Board, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The event witnessed the gracious presence of distinguished dignitaries, including the directors and the members of the school Governing Board, school officials, parents, and students, all of whom contributed to the vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
Dr. Hameeda Kadar, Principal of M.E.S. Indian School, expressed profound appreciation for the dedication and intellectual curiosity demonstrated by the students. In her address, she eloquently remarked, ‘SCINOVA 2026 is a celebration of inquisitiveness, the courage to question, and the passion to create. Each model and idea showcased here reflects the glorious future of our students.’
Students with great enthusiasm came up with innovative and astonishing projects for ‘SCINOVA 2026’. An impressive array of over 2900 exhibits across four categories, in 22 theme rooms featuring working models, and artistic expressions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, STEM, Robotics, Languages, Skill Subjects, Informatics Practices, Social Science, Qatar History, Home Science, Commerce, Art and Craft, and Sports and Games were exhibited. Food stalls and cafeteria corners were set up by the students in the school quadrangle highlighting the emphasis that the school lays
on values-based education and community service. As part of the exhibition, the Department of Arabic, Urdu, and Islamic Studies organized a Qur’an exhibition centred on key themes derived from Qur’anic teachings, including faith and practice; social values such as family, parents, neighbours, and society; economic principles like zakah, sadaqah, ethical earning and spending, trade, honesty, labour, and wages; the relationship between science and the Qur’an—covering topics such as embryology, galaxies, oceans, mountains, and natural phenomena—and calligraphy. The specially designed ‘Qatar Corner’ offered exhibits highlighting the nation’s culture, progress, and sustainability initiatives, adding a distinctive local essence to the event.
In all, SCINOVA 2026 witnessed students’ enthusiastic participation with overwhelming support from parents and staff enabling young enthusiasts to apply theoretical knowledge through hands-on exploration and critical thinking. Ms. Lia Rolland and Ms. Vidhu Suresh successfully coordinated the event, ensuring its seamless execution and overall success. Evelyn Johnly, Head Girl, welcomed the gathering on the occasion.
