Doha, July 22, 2025: MES Indian School organized a solemn condolence meeting to pay homage to Late Mr. Hyder Haji, one of the school’s founding members and former president. The gathering honoured his enduring legacy, exceptional leadership, and invaluable contributions to the establishment and growth of the institution.
The memorial gathering organized by the MES Management took place at the Multi-Purpose Hall of MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch & was held on 22nd July, 2025. The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Najeeb K.P., Senior Vice President of the MES Governing Board.
Representing the Embassy of India, Mr. Harish Pandey, First Secretary, graced the gathering, symbolizing the deep respect and recognition accorded to the late Mr. Hyder Haji. The gathering was honored by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Manikantan (President, ICC), Mr. Deepak Shetty (Officiating President, ICBF), Mr. C.V. Rappai (President, Birla Public School), Mr. Babu Rajan (Former President, ICC & ICBF), Mr. Haider Chungathara (President, INCAS), Mr. Abdul Raheem (Member, CIC), Mr. Khaleel A. P. (Chief Coordinator, UNITY Qatar & MES Management Member), and Mr. Basheer (MES Management Member) who spoke in the gathering, paying tribute to the departed soul. The dignitaries fondly remembered Mr. Hyder Haji’s remarkable contributions to education, social welfare, and the Indian diaspora in Qatar.
Mr. Kashif Jaleel (Vice President, MES Governing Board), Mr. Ahamed Isham (Deputy General Secretary, MES Governing Board), Mr. Ashraf Sharafudheen (Director, MES Governing Board), Mr. Fasalu P. P. (Director, MES Governing Board), and other MES Management members were among the dignitaries present at the meet. The gathering was seamlessly presented by Mr. Mohd. Ilias, Vice Principal & Head of Boys’ Section. A heartfelt video presentation depicting the life, legacy, and enduring achievements of Mr. Hyder Haji was also screened during the gathering. The teaching and non-teaching staff of MES Indian School also attended the gathering, expressing their deep respect and admiration for the late leader.
A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr. Hyder Haji spent over five decades in Qatar. He was also the founder of the Family Food Center Group and supported several educational initiatives in India, including Dayapuram Educational Center and Ideal Education Society, Thrissur. His tireless efforts & unwavering dedication, along with fellow founders, played a pivotal role in transforming MES Indian School into one of Qatar’s leading educational institutions.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the family and addressing the gathering, his son, Mr. Anwar, shared heartfelt reflections on his father’s life, values, and lifelong dedication & commitment to society.
