M.E.S MARKS INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY, HONOURING WORKERS

M.E.S Indian School observed International Labour Day with great fervour. Special assemblies were conducted in honour of the working community and to express gratitude for their commitment. The celebration was carried out in harmony with the school’s core values (CARE- Commitment, Achievement, Respect, and Empathy) and aligned with the spirit of Qatar National Vision 2030, promoting social development, human values, and respect for all professions in society.

Various activities, including speeches, skits, poem writing, collage making and slogan writing competitions, were organized to mark the occasion. In the Boys’ Section, students attired in various costumes to represent the labour community of the world, portraying the greatness of occupations that contribute to the welfare of society. Mr. Suresh, an Art Teacher, created portraits of the housekeeping staff of the school and presented to them as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. In the Girls’ Section, during the special assembly, teachers highlighted the importance of the working community in society and the dignity of each profession, which enabled students to realize the need to respect, appreciate and honour this community. In the Junior Section, a special assembly was conducted wherein students delivered inspiring speeches, an engaging skit on the occasion. In the K G Section of the school, a lively rhyme performance was held where children dressed up in fire-fighter costumes and sang enthusiastically. Children who dressed up as the workers of various occupations spoke a few lines confidently while introducing the role they were representing,

Employees, including the supporting staff, were honoured with special gifts and certificates of appreciation as a token of admiration and honour for their hard work rendered throughout the year. The school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, in her felicitation remarks, stated that future leaders need to be made aware of the importance of the working class, which is the backbone of society.

The activities of the day were successfully coordinated by the teachers in charge, Mr. Jency George, Mr. Rajesh K.S, Mrs. Namita Pradeep, Mrs Shabrina, Mrs Nisha Menon and Ms. Suja Mathew.
