M E S MEMORY TRAIN CAPTIVATES VISITORS OF EXPO 2K24

The Memory Train, a photo exhibition organized as a part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of M.E.S Indian School, capturing the golden moments of the school down memory lane enthralled a large section of the visitors of Expo 2K24, a science, math, art and Qatar History exhibition organized on 17th October 2024.

Organized by the cultural committee, a replica of a train with three compartments and an engine was created to display memorable photographs from the 50-year history of our school. Over 500 photographs reminiscing the most memorable moments and personalities from the school’s history which included images of late members of the school’s management, former principals, and prominent guests who visited the institution over the last five decades. Giani Zail Singh, former President of India; Justice Fathima Beevi, the first female judge of the Supreme Court of India; M.F. Hussain, a renowned Indian artist were among the notable figures.

H.E. Mohammed Nurudeen Ismaila, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Qatar, in the presence of the members of the school Governing Board, the Principal, and other school officials flagged off the Memory Train. Dr. Rafal Al Mufti, Dean of the School of Engineering at Oryx, Liverpool University was the Guest of Honour. The stationed train giving out smoke and the typical platform sound effects being played created an immersive experience for the visitors.

Mr Sudeer and Mr Suresh from the Fine Arts Department worked tirelessly for over a week, alongside Mr. Abdul Gaffar and his team for the success of the exhibition. The ICT Department, led by Mr. Haroon, Muhammed V P Senior Admin played a significant role in the preparation, collection, scanning, and arrangement of the photos and video displays. The general convenors of the event, Mr. Anver K and Mrs. Sumitha Abdul Nassar, coordinated the execution of the exhibition with the support of the section coordinators, Mr. Sabino Mathew, Mrs. Ajnu Ali, and Mrs. Fency Pathrose.
