Mr Mohamed Navas, from the Department of Physical Education of MES Indian School, has represented the Indian national team in the 35+ age category of Handball at the prestigious World Masters Games 2025, held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 15th May to 30th May 2025.
The World Masters Games, organized by the International Masters Games Association (IMGA) under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is widely recognized as the largest multi-sport event for mature athletes. This year’s edition saw participation from over 25,000 athletes worldwide, competing across 35 different sports disciplines.
The Indian team progressed to the semi-finals. Despite a determined effort, the team narrowly missed qualifying for the final. The Indian team demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill, defeating Thailand to secure a historic bronze medal, marking India’s first-ever international podium finish in handball competition outside the country.
