The senior students of M.E.S Indian School delivered an exceptional performance at the recently concluded Model United Nations Conference hosted by Georgetown University – Qatar. Held on 21st November, the prestigious event witnessed the participation of nearly 550 student delegates representing around 23 schools, making it a dynamic platform for diplomatic dialogue, critical thinking, and global awareness.
M.E.S delegation comprised of Sayed Zakariya, Muhamad Hilal, Muhammad Shan Shefy, Johan Juttas, Jacob Soni, Zidan Shuhaib, Reyhan Mohammed, Aisha Maryam, P.Varunavi, Ziya Zhameen, Nithyasri Manohar, Abel Peter Saji, Pranathi Reddy, Syed Dawar Abbas, Zoona Shaheer, Rihab Shameer and Merin Elizabath Paul. The student delegates actively engaged in stimulating debates across a range of committees, including UNESCO, UNSC, UNDP, UNEP, UNHCR, ICJ, and the Commission on the Status of Women. Representing diverse nations such as France, Indonesia, Uganda, Kenya, Slovakia, Algeria, Pakistan, Romania, China, and Tunisia, they demonstrated in-depth research, diplomatic acumen, and a strong grasp of global issues.
The following M.E.S Indian School students were recognised for their exemplary performance across various committees: Mohammad Shan Shefy received the Outstanding Diplomacy Award, while Merin Elizabeth Paul and Pranathi Reddy Paramaiahgari were honoured with Honourable Mentions. The school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, felicitated the entire delegation and commended the awardees for bringing laurels to the institution. Mr. Manmadhan Mambally, Chief Coordinator for Students’ External Activities, meticulously mentored the participants and coordinated the school’s participation in the event.
