M.E.S STUDENTS TRIUMPH AT MALAYALAM QUIZ 2025 – A CELEBRATION OF LANGUAGE AND LEGACY

Students of MES Indian School showcased an impressive performance at the prestigious “Keralam Nammude Keralam – Malayalam Quiz 2025 (Season 9)”, organised by Millennium Kids, Doha–Qatar, as part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations. The preliminary event conducted recently witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1,000 students representing 20 schools across Qatar.

M.E.S Indian School secured significant representation in the semi-finals with 14 students (7 teams) from the Senior Category (Grades 9–12) and 18 students (9 teams) from the Junior Category (Grades 5–8) qualifying among the top 25 teams in their respective divisions—an achievement that stands as a testament to their preparation and calibre.

In the finals conducted recently the comprising Afina Faizal (VIII-N) and Fathima Hanin (VIII-N) in the Junior Category clinched First Prize showcasing their deep knowledge of Malayalam language and heritage. In the Senior Category, Muhammed Razin Shahir (IX-C) and Muhammed Bashash (IX-C) secured Third Prize with their commendable performance. The prize distribution ceremony was held on 5th December 2025 at the Indian Cultural Centre, graced by Mrs Bindu Nair, Second Secretary (Education & Culture), Embassy of India, and Mr C.V. Rapai, Director of NORKA and Chairman, Malayalam Mission – Qatar Chapter, who served as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Mr Manikandan, President of ICC, alongside dignitaries and community leaders.

Appreciating the students’ outstanding achievement, the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadr remarked that the students’ success was the result of dedicated training and guidance from the teaching faculty of Malayalam Department, Coordinated by Mrs Bijily Mohanakumar whose efforts in mentoring the participants were instrumental in their outstanding results.
