In a spirited display of athletic excellence and teamwork, M.E.S Indian School emerged triumphant at the ICC CRIIIO National Cricket Festival for Women, organised by the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The prestigious tournament, aimed at promoting women’s cricket, witnessed enthusiastic participation from various schools across Qatar. M.E.S Indian School fielded two teams – MES Falcons and MES Phoenix – both of which performed exceptionally, showcasing great skill, discipline, and determination. Team MES Falcons advanced confidently through the rounds, ultimately clinching the gold medal after a gripping final against Birla Public School. Their stellar victory reflected the team’s resilience, technical prowess, and unwavering commitment.
Meanwhile, Team M.E.S Phoenix delivered a commendable performance, securing the bronze medal after a decisive win over Bright Future School in the third-place play-off. Their perseverance and sportsmanship were truly noteworthy. A noteworthy highlight of the event was the presence of Mr Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council, who honoured the winners and finalists. His motivating words and gracious presence greatly enriched the occasion and served as a source of inspiration for all participants.
The school principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, in her congratulatory words, remarked, ‘This exceptional achievement stands as a proud milestone in MES Indian School’s sporting journey, emphasising its commitment to nurturing girls’ sports and empowering students through co-curricular excellence.’ The Physical Education Department and the coaching staff, Ms Kabia Badoni, were lauded by the school management for their continued support in guiding students.
