In a resounding triumph of eloquence and spiritual expression, M.E.S Indian School was declared the Overall Champion at the 29th Sirat-un-Nabi Elocution and 26th Holy Quran Recitation Competitions, held at the school premises under the esteemed patronage of the Presidency of Private Education, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 58 students from 16 expatriate schools representing the Indian subcontinent.
Organized with the noble objective of promoting national identity and religious values among students, the competitions enable students to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and showcase their talents in Quranic recitation. In the Holy Quran Recitation Competition, the following MES students emerged as winners: Master Mohammad Umair Mujeeb – First Prize (Junior Category) and Master Abdul Rahman – Third Prize (Senior Category) In the Elocution Competition Fathima Abdul Gafoor and Fathima Shifa bagged second and third positions in their respective Junior and Senior categories thus enabling MES to triumph at the 29th Sirat-un-Nabi Elocution and Quran Recitation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Tahan, Head of the Islamic Culture Department, Shiekh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Culture Center appreciated the commendable initiatives of the school in inculcating the Islamic values and ideals among the young minds. The school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, congratulated the winners for their efforts and the Islamic Studies Department for their dedicated mentorship. ‘M.E.S Indian School secured top honours across categories, affirming its continued excellence in nurturing oratory and spiritual depth among its students,’ remarked the Principal. The winners were awarded certificates and trophies, and students from the school presented a delightful ‘Arabic poem recitations’, much to the appreciation of the audience.
Directors and Members of the school governing board, principals and teachers from various expatriate schools, school officials, parents and students were among those who attended the event. The following members of the teaching faculty of the school trained the students: Holy Quran Recitation, Mr Habeebullah and Mr Manasul Ansari, and for Elocution, Mrs Rassia Hamza and Mrs Magdalene. Earlier, Mr Usman Mayyeri, Head of the Department, Arabic, Urdu and Islamic Studies and chief coordinator of the event, welcomed the gathering, while Mrs Shibina S, a faculty in the Department of Islamic Studies, proposed a vote of thanks. Mrs Fiona and Mr Davidson and Mr Mohammed Athar, members of the teaching faculty, compered the programme.
