MES Indian School conducted a workshop on JOTA-JOTI (Jamboree on the Air) programme on 15th October 2024 with objectives to establish communication and foster a common link among Scouts and Guides across the world.
The event featured Mr.Jogesh Dewan, a distinguished communication engineer, Qatar Amateur Radio Society as the main speaker, who shared insights on amateur radio technology and its vital role in promoting global connectivity among young Scouts. His engaging presentation inspired participants to explore the world of radio communications and its impact on scouting activities. This year’s JOTA-JOTI programme at MES Indian School not only strengthened the bonds among Scouts and Guides but also provided them with a platform to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from Scouts and Guides of MES Indian School, who were engaged in various activities designed to enhance teamwork, communication skills, and understanding of global cultures. The occasion further witnessed the presence of Mr Ahmed Al Yousef and Mrs Muna Al Mansouri from Qatar Boys’ Scouts Association, Mrs Paramjeet Kaur Bhullar, Coordinator and Trainer of Expats schools, who emphasized the importance of scouting values and the spirit of global camaraderie.
The initiative, which accentuates leadership, teamwork, and service, was duly acknowledged by the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, who commended the efforts of scouts and guides. In a remarkable display of teamwork, Mr Ashraf, Mr Rizwan, Mr Nizamudheen, Mrs Mary Jainsha, Mrs Balkees Farsana, Mrs Fency Pathrose, leaders of the Scouts and Guides as well as the Cubs and Bulbuls, actively participated in this year’s Jamboree – On The Air (JOTA). The programme was well coordinated by Mr Rajesh, the overall in-charge Scouts and Guides who also welcomed the attendees, and Mrs Asha V Nair, the Guides in charge proposed a vote of thanks.
