MESMUN 2025 IGNITES LEADERSHIP, DIPLOMACY, AND GLOBAL VISION

With a focus on providing students a dynamic platform to cultivate leadership, diplomacy, debate, and dialogue. The MES Model United Nations Conference, (MESMUN), an academic simulation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), was conducted at MES Indian School recently.

MESMUN 2025 aimed at fostering global awareness, enabling critical thinking, and public speaking skills among students through a high-level discourse simulating the operations of the United Nations Security Council on pressing international issues such as, ‘Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure: Defining Acts of Aggression in the Digital Age’, ‘The Role of Non-State Armed Groups in Modern Conflicts: Accountability and International Law’ and ‘Transnational Organized Crime as a Threat to International Peace and Security.’

Participants assumed the roles of diplomats from 16 different nations, namely the United States, the United Kingdom, China, India, Russia, France, Germany, Ukraine, Nepal, Qatar, Canada, Australia, Iran, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Mexico. They engaged in structured deliberations under the theme, ‘From Civil Wars to Cyber Wars: Adapting the UNSC to New Dimensions of Conflict.’ Speaking on the occasion, the school Principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar, observed, ‘The successful conduct of MESMUN 2025 marked a significant academic milestone for MES Indian School as the event not only enhanced students’ understanding of international relations but also empowered them with essential 21st-century skills such as negotiation, collaboration, and critical thinking.’ Khadeeja Helen (12-I) and Ralph Oadin (12-A) welcomed and proposed a vote of thanks respectively for the programme. Mrs Sunita Dahiya, Department of Social Science, in collaboration with the members of the teaching faculty, coordinated the event
