MULTILINGUA FEST’ CELEBRATED AT M E S AMIDST FANFARE

To revitalize and promote linguistic diversity, M.E.S Indian School celebrated, ‘Multilingua Fest – Bhasha Sangam,’ on 19th January 2025 at the Conference Hall of the school with an array of cultural performances by the Students. ‘Language Gala,’ a glimpse of India’s diverse languages captivated the audience as it showcased a unique relationship between languages and their historical evolution.

The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Ashraf Sharafudheen P.T, Director, M.E.S. Governing Board, graced the occasion. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Mrs Neelambarï Sushant, Head of Domestic Workers’ Welfare (ICBF), Mrs Sreekala Gopinath, a prolific writer, Mr S. Mani Bharathi, President – Qatar Tamizhar Sangam and Mr Obaid Tahir, Imam, a journalist, and authored several books in Arabic and Urdu.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Hameeda Kadar, the school Principal stated, ‘Unity through languages is essential for fostering inclusivity and harmony. We need to preserve the uniqueness of our traditions as part of inclusive education. These unique elements can be effectively transferred through multilingualism.’ The event also celebrated the unique combination of languages, including Arabic, French, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Enchanting poetic verses of famous poets from various states were presented, lending an enriching experience to the audience.

Earlier, Ms Mailha Jabeen welcomed the gathering and Ms Liyana Shameer proposed a vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Ms. Uma Devi, Ms Roopa Rahul, Mr Arun Gopi and Ms Sabreena, members of the teaching faculty.
