OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN ‘CHETANA’ FOR M E S IN CONSECUTIVE YEARS

As part of the Hindi Day celebrations, the Department of Hindi, MES Indian School conducted CHETANA-2024, an interschool Hindi competition on Thursday 12th September 2024 at the Conference Hall of the school. Show and talk for the junior, mono act for Intermediate and essay writing for the senior category of participants were conducted. M E S Indian School with its spectacular performance in every category it featured, won the overall championship emphatically.

A total of 47 students from 18 Indian schools in Qatar took part in these competitions.  Dr Meenu Parasar Mansi, an eminent author, poet and social activist, Mrs Chandra Joshi Gururani, a passionate writer and IWA Joint General secretary and Mrs Monica Modi, Vice President of NIA and a promotor of the Hindi language were the judges for the competitions.

The results of the contest are as follows. In the show and talk for the Junior category Shreya Harish Kumar of MES Indian School won the first position followed by Saathvik Agrahari of Al Khor International School and Shrestha Sameer Dorne of DPS Modern Indian School in the second and third positions respectively. In the Intermediate mono act category, Samridhi Panwar of Ideal Indian School secured the first position, while Mythili Menon of M.E.S Indian School and Rumaisa Amin of Noble International School bagged second and third positions respectively. In the essay writing contest for the senior category, Shamita Adiga of Birla Public School won the first prize, while Aayan Hasan of M.E.S Indian School and Saisha Varma of DPS Modern Indian School secured second and third positions respectively.

The felicitation ceremony for the Chetana-2024 was conducted on the same day wherein Dr Hameeda Kadar, Principal, ME.S Indian School was the Chief Guest. Shri Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, First Secretary (Education and Culture), Embassy of India, Qatar was the Guest of Honour. Speaking on the occasion Shri Sachin Dinkar Shankpal glorified the far-reaching influence of Hindi language especially among the expatriates of India globally. In the inaugural

address the school principal, Dr Hameeda Kadar emphasized the importance of learning Hindi as it helps to maintain national integration and promotes the feeling of oneness and harmony among Indians despite social and cultural differences. Mr Rajendran.S, Coordinator, Department of Hindi spoke on the occasion.

The Guest of Honour, Shri Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, First Secretary (Education and Culture), Embassy of India, Qatar, the panel of judges and the school Principal, honoured the winners with merit certificates and trophies. The school Principal released Sphoorthi -2024, the Hindi Magazine of the school on the occasion. A cultural segment added more vibrancy to the event. Mrs. Renuka G, Coordinator, Department of Hindi, Girls’ Section welcomed the gathering. The school choir presented a song glorifying Hindi which was followed by a dance performance by Miss Agrata. Shivam Bhadra, IX D proposed a vote of thanks. Mrs Sibi John and Mrs Nasreena introduced the programme. Mr Rajendran. S and Mrs Renuka G, Coordinators, Department of Hindi coordinated the event. All the school officials and teachers were present on the occasion.
