STELLAR PERFORMANCE BY MES AT SOP CRICKET TOURNAMENT

The MES cricket team garnered 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the School Olympics Cricket Tournament organized by the Qatar Cricket Association from April 17th to May 5th 2025 at the West End Park International Stadium. This tournament, which celebrated youth cricket, discipline, and sportsmanship, brought together enthusiastic school teams from across the country.

The Primary and Secondary boys’ teams of M.E.S Indian School remained unbeaten, proving their tenacity by advancing through the group stages and semi-finals to secure gold medals in their respective divisions. The Preparatory boys’ team also impressed with their skill and determination, earning a bronze medal after encountering a series of competitive matches.

The Girls’ School Olympics Cricket began earlier on April 15, wherein the Preparatory Girls’ team secured the bronze medal, while the Secondary Girls’ team went on to win silver, underscoring the rising talent and dedication among our young female cricketers.

With a total of 60 students (boys and girls) participating, this event was a testament to teamwork, dedication, and the spirit of healthy competition. The outstanding performances of the players reflect the growing enthusiasm for cricket among youth in Qatar. The school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, commended the efforts of the players for their dedication and achievements. She also praised Coach Mr. Afsal S, Ms. Kavya, Ms. Mariam, and the members of the Department of Physical Education for their relentless efforts in guiding the teams to success. ‘This remarkable performance in the School Olympics Cricket underscores the strength of our sports program and the spirit of excellence that drives our students,’ remarked the school Principal.
